Prime Arena at the Ireland Canada Business Association Summit

Matthew Tansey attended the Ireland Canada Business Association Summit at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade on behalf of Prime Arena Holdings.

The event underscored the strength and depth of the Ireland–Canada relationship, one built on decades of shared history, economic links and deep community connections. Excellent contributions from Ambassador Dennis King, Erin McGreehan TD, Dr Deirdre Giblin and Mary Buckley highlighted how this partnership continues to evolve, with growing opportunities across trade, investment and collaboration. What stood out most was the ambition on both sides to expand the relationship even further — not just economically, but culturally and socially as well.

At Prime Arena, we see a clear role for sport in that next chapter. Ice hockey and ice sports are central to Canadian identity, and with the development of a new, world-class ice facility in Ireland, there is a real opportunity to strengthen ties through sport, cultural exchange and international competition. As we approach our planning submission, it is exciting to consider how Prime Arena can act as a platform to deepen Ireland–Canada connections in a meaningful and lasting way.
