Ice Skating Association of Ireland Confirms Official Endorsement of Prime Arena
Prime Arena Holdings welcomes the official endorsement of the Prime Arena Cherrywood project by the Ice Skating Association of Ireland (ISAI).
In its announcement, ISAI highlights the long‑standing absence of an Olympic‑standard ice facility in Ireland and recognises the importance of a public–private partnership approach in delivering a sustainable national hub for winter sports. The endorsement reflects ISAI’s confidence in Prime Arena’s capacity to support athlete development, expand participation and strengthen Ireland’s long‑term winter‑sports infrastructure.

For the first time, Irish athletes would have access to a permanent, Olympic-standard home facility in Ireland. The Cherrywood development directly addresses a long-standing infrastructure gap and aligns strongly with Government objectives around sport, health, regional development and international engagement. ISAI now joins a growing coalition of support from national governing bodies, professional sport, business, tourism and international partners who have endorsed the Prime Arena project, recognising its potential to deliver a landmark facility for Ireland.
