where it all began
It started in 2021, over a cup of coffee in Greystones, Co. Wicklow. Founder Dermot Rigley, whose background is in sport and broadcast rights was talking with a friend who’d just come back from watching the Belfast Giants play. The conversation turned into a simple question: could this work in Dublin?
Dermot spent the following weeks digging into the numbers, and reached out to some industry experts and successful entrepreneurs including Mickey O’Rourke and Tom Kennedy to help figure out if it could work. Those early conversations confirmed there was a genuine opportunity, and the idea grew into what would become Prime Arena Holdings, a business formally established in 2022 and built around one of the most experienced consortiums in Ireland, spanning sport, entertainment, broadcast, and business.
